Isobutanol is a primary alcohol and an organic compound with the molecular formula (CH3)2CHCH2OH. It is a colorless, flammable liquid with a characteristic sweet musty odor, mainly used in agricultural chemical preparations. It is only partly miscible with water but readily dissolves in common solvents like ethers and alcohol. Isobutanol is easily ignited, with a flashpoint of 26–29°C.
